Nursing Homes - Elder Abuse Prevention With A Spy Camera

It is no secret that the fastest-growing segment of the population in the United States is seniors. Baby boomers are starting to throw their weight around in the economy with the percentage of people over 65 growing rapidly. This is putting a strain on Medicare, Social Security and nursing homes.

As far as nursing homes goes there aren't enough of them in the first place. Most are understaffed which is a product of unqualified personnel, low pay and thankless work-a dangerous trio of obstacles.

All these factors lead to elder abuse in nursing homes. It has been estimated that as many as one out of six people in a nursing home has had some instance of elder abuse. That can be anything from verbal to physical intimidation, withholding of medication, and many other subtle ways that our elders can be abused.

And nursing homes are not cheap. I think everybody knows that. So what are you supposed to do for elder abuse prevention?

One foolproof way is to put a hidden spy camera or hidden security camera as they are sometimes called inside the room to see what's going on.

The one that is the most effective and therefore the most popular in the world is the alarm clock hidden camera with a built-in DVR. Place alarm clock facing the direction you want to record then plug it in and use the remote control to start recording.

Images are recorded to an 8 GB SD card. Up to 144 hours of recording time is available on one SD card. With motion activation that can be 2 to 3 weeks depending on the level of activity. To play back the images remove the SD card and insert it in your computers SD card reader. Then you will see firsthand what is going on in the nursing home. Hopefully nothing!

It is a great way to see what's going on when you can't be there. If you think your babysitter or nanny is stealing from you get a hidden spy camera and find out for sure.

When are you getting one?
